Deliverables

  • Become more familiar with the WRAP process.
  • Be aware of the limitations of our common decision practices.
  • Get familiar with the 4 villians of good decisions: Narrow Framing; Confirmation bias; Short term emotions; Overconfidence.

THE CHALLENGE

Research in psychology has revealed that our decisions are disrupted by an array of biases and irrationalities: We’re overconfident. We seek out information that supports us and downplay information that doesn’t. We get distracted by short-term emotions. When it comes to making choices, it seems, our brains are flawed instruments. Unfortunately, merely being aware of these shortcomings doesn’t fix the problem, any more than knowing that we are nearsighted helps us to see. The real question is: How can we do better?

THE Methodology

The Decisive workshop includes introduces participants to the great knowledge of the book, using a playful card deck that breaks the book into easy to use bites. In order to help participants create the link between the Decisive process and their daily work, we use Open Space Technology, which allows them to pose challenges and get the support of their peers in applying the process to real life decisions.
