I've been wanting to experiment with video content. But each time that thought comes up, the awkward and shy girl in me comes up and puts her foot down - it's too much! "We'll get laughed at." "My nose is too big", "They will see me"...
And still, the "want" remains. There are people I want to reach, important things I want to share. And mostly, I want my little scared girl to know she doesn't need to know how to navigate my professional life - because I know how. I want the whole of me to know that we can do hard things - safely.
So yesterday, after spending time with the awesome George Hanover, I finally had the courage to record this video. And after receiving encouraging feedback from the women of my community - "Her Circle", I am ready to share it.
First learnings from the last 24 hours: gently does it; someone holding your hand is so helpful - and if it's George Hanover, even better; having access to a community of honest cheerleaders to send you off into the world makes things so much better. Not only for video making, but for any new adventures.
